Established in 1952, the Amelia County Volunteer Fire Dept has been the first line of response to all emergencies outside the bounds of Medical and Law Enforcement.

Made up of over 100 Volunteers operating across 5 Stations that house 22 fire apparatus, our organization provides emergency response to the citizens and guests across 356 square miles that make up Amelia County Virginia.

Our member body is made up of men and women from all walks of life, careers, and experience levels. The Volunteers of Amelia VFD take a high level of pride in the responsibility we hold, and our mission is simple - Protect and Preserve the Life, Property, and Safety of the citizens we call Friends and Family.
